Let me begin this review with, this place used to be my favorite campground. It's clean, they allow dogs, there's a big playground, it's not super expensive... but after my most recent experience I will not be back. Trying to communicate with the caretaker is a joke. The last time we were there we asked if we could drive our car up to the campsite to load and unload our things. yup no problem was the response. So this time we had been camping all weekend, drove up a few times to drop off whatever. No problem. I know it says in the rules no parking on the grass. which we never did. Last day comes and we drove up to load everything up. the guy comes zipping up to our campsite on his golf cart and just stared at us. we ask if there's a problem. no response. he glares at our campsite. sir, is something wrong? we asked like 5 times before he's like YES, THERE'S A PROBLEM! NO PARKING ON THE GRASS! As he's writing our license plate down. I tried to explain that we had permission and he just continued with lack of communication. He finally agreed not to charge us 140 dollars....It was ridiculous. Maybe he should use that energy quieting the drunks or the loud teenagers yelling at the playground. Or even taking care of all of the chipmunk holes that I twisted my ankle on. Seriously, there was 3 in our campground. Yeah they put in new water fountains and added some bushes, but I will not be back after the way we were treated. It's like the caretakers have crazy mood swings, sometimes they are hunky dory, other times just jerks. The last time we were yelled at because we got drift wood from the lake to burn. Their wood is ridiculous btw, chopped super thin so it burns faster and you need more. The reason they were not ok with us burning drift wood was because they said it doesn't burn... hmmmm we burned it just fine. This place packs in the campers. It's just a money grab.
One of the cleanest campgrounds we have ever stayed at. People who run it are super nice and the beautiful lake scenery is a nice bonus. Bring your bikes because there is a great trail to ride.
Nice long level spots with picnic table. We had a water view out the front and back. Well kept, clean bathrooms. Roof satellite worked. Does not have sewer hookup.
This is a nice spot for walking. With free parking, clean restrooms and port a potties, those with little kids should not have any problems. The trails are marked, there is a beach, boat landing, playground and it is also a campground. The trails are not overly long for little legs or go other ways to extend your walking.
Had a wonderful weekend camping at the tent only sites. It was very peaceful and quite. The staff was pleasant and the bathrooms and showers were very clean. Great place for family camping.
